Move over Honey Boo Boo

Dearest Cate,

In my wildest dreams I could not have imagined having such a blue-eyed, army-crawling, binky-sucking, gummy-smile-munchkin.

Cate, you had the cutest baby mullet.

A braided mullet is so Honey Boo Boo. So we cut it off.

It's not unusual for you to have a poop diaper, runny nose, spit-up all over...and still smiling. I have a lot to learn from you.

Dear Cate,

Today you're 6 months old! You are such an easy-going baby, with a smile and a dimple that make mommy's heart melt.

We still do not have photos of you with all your cousins, aunts and uncles...we have many reasons for not having our camera on and ready for action...
So sorry about this, but you're the second baby (just like mommy was), so we may have fewer photos taken of us. It's not because we're loved less or any less cute than the first kid...it's just because. That is all.

Paige, Alaina and auntie Awesome came to visit after Olivia spent the week with them. And I got to bond with you and you got a week off from being tickled and tackled by a curious 3 year old.

This made auntie Awesome even Auntie Awesomer.

Dear Cate,

We are so happy you're here! Even though you were 2 days fashionably late, your timing could not have been better.

Things I tried to induce labor:
Eating a lot
Eating spicy food
Watching Twilight
Zumba
etc.

What actually worked to induce labor:
Watching Duck Dynasty and rubbing lavender oil on my feet

12/6/12
6:30 PM Dinner with Nana and Papa; Olivia asks if she can go to their house, and they say Yes!
     (Duck Dynasty)
10 PM     Rub lavender oil on feet
10:30      Mommy's water breaks (sort of)
10:40      Grandma and Grandpa are 100 miles out yet--so happy Olivia is with Nana and Papa
10:45     Mommy curls hair, in case pictures will be taken
(Stalling until midnight so we could maximize our hospital stay)

12/7/12
Midnight Hospital registration
2 AM      Contractions fast, strong
2:01 AM Nurse is asking mommy stupid registration questions still
3-ish       Fentanyl
3:30 AM Epidural FINALLY arrives, sedated mommy tells anesthesiologist he's a hero
   (More labor stuff)
4:45 AM Push, push, push
5:26 AM Cate!
